The pets feature has been revamped so that you may now train your pets in strength, defense and speed (as you would yourself) and have them fight with you in battles.
The gains they experience in training are based on on their own levels. You can level your pets by having them fight with you and earning experience points.
You will also want to feed your pets. The food (Biscuits, Fresh Salmon or Pigs ear) can be purchased in the Port of Tortuga, Port of Monaco, and Port Hidalgo. Biscuits help to increase their health. Pig's ears help restore loyalty (which is depleted with training and fighting). Salmon helps with both, but at a lower percentage (5% as compared to 10% for biscuits and pigs ears).
